the BS* + Beer Show

Building Science is better with friends!

*Building Science

For years people have been getting together locally to talk building science. And now we are bringing it to the whole country with an online discussion group format.

The BS + Beer Show is an online talk show focusing on hot topics in building science. Our mission is:

"To spread BS far and wide, and to have fun doing it."

We hope you enjoy all the building science content!

The Next LIVE Show via ZOOM

What are the pros and cons of working with family members? Many business-owning parents dream of having their children join their organization but that path can be a complicated one to travel successfully. Architects Steven and Alexandra Baczek join us to discuss how they have navigated that journey in a way that works for both of them and helps them produce their industry-leading, high-performance designs.
Tune in to ask questions, share your experience or simply enjoy the show!

Our Guest Expert:

Steven Baczek
Architect - A Nationally Recognized Architect has been in the building industry for over 35 years. Throughout my career, I have designed hundreds of projects across the spectrum of energy performance and sustainability, with a distinct notoriety is the residential construction sector. My commitment to my clients equates beautiful aesthetics with trusted durability, health, comfort, environmental responsibility and energy efficiency. My work extends beyond the Northeast where I call home, across the United States to serve clients with passions that align with mine.

Notable projects include numerous Passive Homes (some of which were the first examples in respective areas), Zero Energy Homes, and many Deep Energy Retrofits/Renovations to include the very first certified Passive House Retrofit in the country. I have also designed over 60 LEED Platinum homes. Many of these projects have become industry examples to provide a better understanding of industry perspective, and the ability to see beyond. While these projects highlight some of my work – my philosophy and passion are knitted into every project I do. It’s that Passion that motivates me to continually move our industry forward.
